About

Join us in May for Storm Sweep! Pontchartrain Conservancy will hold Storm Sweep as a month designated to clean up the Lake Pontchartrain Basin and promote education about storm preparedness. You can choose the cleanup location that best fits your schedule or participate in multiple cleanups. Location details can be found here. You can also sign up as an individual or family and pick your own location to clean up in May. Just make sure you track the trash you pick up using the Clean Swell App! GROUPS CAN JOIN LOCATIONS ON THE MAP!

Hurricane season is on the way, and we intend to be prepared! You can help prepare our communities for the coming summer rains. Together we'll remove trash and debris so that our catch basins and streets can adequately route stormwater out of our neighborhoods.

Local teams of volunteers will concentrate on clearing streets and waterways
of litter within their communities. Volunteers will track where, how much, and
what kinds of litter are collected in the Clean Swell App or by emailing us. Volunteers
are asked to remember to take precautions like wiping down their hands or (if
used) litter grabber afterwards; immediately washing reusable garden gloves; not
touching their face; keeping social distancing, and washing hands afterwards.

Educational opportunities and materials will be shared on our website and social media throughout Storm Sweep this May!
